Online Tax
File Your Tax Return Online
Every Quebec resident must file an income tax return to comply with Quebec and Canadian government requirements.
To complete your provincial and federal returns, you must make sure you are aware of the various particularities that apply to your situation. This includes tax credits, deductions, depreciation, etc.
You must then have in your possession all the necessary documents for your tax return. This means your statements and all supporting documents (e.g. invoices) relevant to your income. If you are relying on an employer for a T4 statement, or a landlord for a rental statement, keep in mind that they should give them to you by the end of February.
Please note that reading your statements is very important. Most of them will tell you on which line of your return to enter the information they contain.
Government Portals
Canada -like Quebec- offers citizens a web portal to gather their tax and other personal information.
Called “My Account” on both platforms, these secure portals give you access to your personal information about your taxes, benefits, and tax affairs online. For the federal version, you can log in to the CRA, while for the provincial version, you will need to use ClicSéQUR instead.
Authorization or Proxy to Access the Portal
When you contract with us to help you complete your tax return online, giving us access to your online records will facilitate the process. For Quebec, you can obtain this authorization directly online, or complete and sign the “Authorization for Release of Information” or “MR-69 Power of Attorney” form. For Canada, you can use the CRA website’s “Confirm a Representative” tab in My Account.
